I am a researcher in plant biodiversity and evolution. Currently, I am an assistant professor at Paris-Saclay University in the lab ESE where I am teaching mostly botany… but also general biodiversity and evolutionary biology. Research wise, in addition to ‘classical’ taxonomic and phylogenetic work, I am interested in deciphering the origin of morphological and ecological plasticity of land plants (including crop wild relatives) using species distribution modelling, high-throughput sequencing data (NGS) and morphometrics.
In 2017-2018, I was a research and teacher assistant in the the lab ECOBIO of the University of Rennes 1. Between 2013 and 2016, I was a post-doctoral fellow in tropical Asian spiny solanums taxonomy and phylogenetics at the Natural History Museum in London. My work was focused on the Tropical Asian Solanum L. species related to the well known aubergine (Solanum melongena L.).
During my PhD at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, I studied the evolution of a giant genus of flowering plants, the genus Euphorbia L. (But… what is a Euphorbia ?). To explore this question I focused mainly on the phylogenetic, biogeographic and ecological aspects of a huge Malagasy radiation of the genus.
